Home Exercise Videos

Today’s Workout

60 minutes BodyCombat Class

I LOVE that BodyCombat class. It always make me sweat and today’s new release was no exception. I love how strong it makes me feel with all that punching and kicking.

Today’s class made me think a bit about those old “Tae Bo” videos that used to be really popular with good ol’ Billy Blanks

I remember back in college I watched an infomercial about some sort of Tae Bo workout that promised AMAZING results (don’t all infomercial products promise the same thing…that’s what makes them so appealing to us all.) I was convinced that this product would make be totally ripped so I grabbed the phone and placed my order. It was a few minutes later when I realized that my meager student income wasn’t going to allow me to pay for these videos without having to go hungry for few weeks. I then called back and canceled my order when the sense of clarity finally revealed itself.

I have to say though, that there are three workout video sets that I have had my eyes of for a while that really intrigue me.

All of these programs promise AMAZING results (surprise, surprise) but I don’t know anybody in real life who has experienced the great changes in their physique that these programs claim will come. Have any of you tried these videos? What did you think?

  1. I know a couple people that have had some results with P90X, but they didn't work out as much as you already do to begin with. You would probably have to do PBillionX in order to get more fit than you already are...

  2. Several years ago, I stayed up late one night watching an earlier version of Tony Horton's Power 90. I was so impressed with how ripped people got in just three months. I ended up ordering the whole thing. I didn't get the same results as they did, but I was also already exercising an hour or more every day, so it wasn't that big of a change for me. I did like the strength training video with the exercise band, and I think it strengthened my arms a bit. Unfortunately, I loaned the video to a friend and never got it back. It's hard for me to remember all the exercises on my own. I think I prefer attending a class over doing a home video, but it is good if you are pressed for time or have little kids at home.

  3. I've heard of people really liking P90X, and getting enough results to actually stick with it.
    The Frederick Marathon is run on a Saturday this year (Usually it's been on a Sunday in the past) so that is the half that I'm running. I think it's the beginning of May.
