Cold Weather Workouts

Yesterday's workout:
45-minute BodyJam Class
60-min Burn & Firm Class

As you can see, I am definitely still competing in the challenge at my gym, even it it's just against myself. I love me a good challenge!! (And I totally loved that BodyJam class yesterday. It brought me back to the 10 years of my life when I took dance lessons growing up!)

Speaking of challenges though, I feel like I need something to really motivate me this winter. I am NOT a fan of running outside during the cold months of winter which is why I rarely do any winter/spring races. I tend to bring my workouts inside during the months of December-March and then I get all excited and pumped to be back outside for spring running again. Last year I made the goal to exercise 2010 miles during the year 2010 and I should be able to meet that goal by the end of the year. I guess what I am looking for now is another challenge/goal to work towards and I am in need of some ideas. Does anybody have any???

  1. I'm with you and tend to go towards the gym and end up doing the same workouts - then get SO excited to be running outside when the weather warms up!

  2. You could aim for something that's challenging but not terribly time-consuming, like jump-roping every day for 10 minutes. A couple of days ago, I told myself I was going to jump rope through three songs--it didn't seem like it would be that tough. But about halfway through the first song, I was ready to quit. I told myself I had to at least make it to the end of the song. By the time it was the end, I had sort of gotten into a groove with the jumps and breathing, so I thought I could do one more song. When I got to the end of the second song, I thought I might as well go ahead and do the third song too. It seemed like that song would never end, but I made it through with only a couple of stops to catch my breath. That was hard! It was only about 12 minutes, but I'm feeling it today in my legs.
